About Me
I am a junior at the University of Cincinnati majoring in Medical Sciences through the College of Medicine. My plan is to attend the Cleveland Clinic's Lerner College of Medicine to be trained as a physician scientist, apply for a surgical residency and specialize in pediatric surgery. I hope to use my surgical skills to aid in biomedical research.
I am passionate about helping others, especially those that cannot help themselves. I am detail-oriented and extremely adaptable, which is necessary for the medical field. I love to be challenged and have to think outside the box. Ideally, I would like to work for a teaching hospital so I could help the next generation of doctors realize their dreams. I currently work at Cincinnati Children's Hospital in the Division of Developmental Biology as an undergraduate researcher. I have been published in development and will continue working in my lab throughout my undergraduate career. In the summer of 2018, I will travel to Scotland to further my research skills at the University of Aberdeen. I have volunteered in a hospital emergency department for 100 hours, volunteered out in the community in a non-medical capacity for 30 hours each year, shadowed various physicians, and maintained a 3.98 GPA. |
